Chronic fish case studies towards an IATA
Why?
- Hazard and safety assessments for the pelagic compartment often rely on in vivo studies using a single fish species, raising ethical concerns and uncertainty in terms of extrapolation.
- An Integrated Approach to Testing and Assessment (IATA) for chronic fish toxicity does not currently exist.
Objectives
- ECETOC Advisory Panel to work in liaison with contracted consultant to develop case studies, leveraging NAMs, to help shape future chronic fish toxicity IATA.
Timeline and Deliverables
- Timeline: end Q3 2025 - Q3 2027.
- Deliverables: Peer-reviewed manuscript(s) on case study findings, including proposed actions towards IATA.
