January 2026 news from the Sec Gen

Dear colleagues and friends,

As we begin a new year, I would like to thank you for your continued engagement and trust in ECETOC. 2026 promises to be an exciting and dynamic year, and I am pleased to share a few important developments that reflect our commitment to connection, collaboration, and scientific excellence.

First, I am delighted to introduce the 1st ECETOC Nexus Week, a new concept we’ve created for 2026. For the first time, we will bring all ECETOC workshops together under one roof (the newly opened "The Standard" hotel, in Brussels), in the same week, including our Annual General Meeting. This format is designed to maximise scientific synergies, boost exchange and networking across communities, while at the same time help limit travel time and costs. I encourage you to share this information with your colleagues and register today to be part of this unique week of science and collaboration.

We have also recently launched an ECETOC Secondee Programme for our members. We are currently looking for a secondee to join our team and contribute to our work on exposure. This programme offers a valuable professional development opportunity and a chance to engage closely with ECETOC’s scientific activities. Please get in touch with me to find out more or consider nominating someone from your team.

Finally, I would like to reiterate that ECETOC remains open and keen to play a science broker role in new partnerships. If you are considering projects or initiatives where you see ECETOC adding value through its scientific expertise and neutral convening role, I would be very pleased to hear from you.
