The task force report gives a state of the science on animal tests for skin contact sensitisation; it discusses the correlation between animal and human tests, to give priority to some test methods of choice; to discuss if, and if so to what extent and in which ways, animal experimental data on sensitisation can be used for classification (and eventual labelling) of a chemical as a sensitiser in man, and to suggest how results from animal skin sensitising experiments should be used as a basis for further testing in man.
