Applying genomics in regulatory toxicology: a report of the ECETOC workshop on omics threshold on non‑adversity

In a nutshell

ECETOC gathered experts at a workshop to discuss how to overcome the final hurdles for using ‘omic technologies in chemical safety assessments, which have the potential to address the 3Rs of refinement, reduction, and replacement of animals used in research.

The workshop was the last in a series of scientific meetings looking back at what has been achieved in the ‘omics technical space, as well as forward to the use of ‘omics data to estimate toxicological points of departure that can be used in chemical assessments.
