Opportunities to get involved – Sept. 2024
Interested in recent updates and getting involved in ECETOC's work? Here's a look at a few upcoming initiatives:
- Be the next ECETOC representative in the ECHA ED Expert Group.
We are looking for members to take on the role of ECETOC representative in the ECHA Endocrine Disruptor Expert Group (ED EG) from beginning-2025. The ECHA ED EG meets three times per year, one of which is F2F in Helsinki (though it is possible to join remotely). The role of the ECETOC representative is to
- Attend the ECHA ED EG meetings
- Liaise within ECETOC, including active ED workgroups, to identify relevant topics/issues [the ECETOC Secretariat will support]

- Interested in shaping the next steps of the TRA-Worker tool? The Task Force is in the process of identifying further activities to improve performance, application and trust in it, so don’t hesitate to get in touch with Sergio if this sounds like the job for you.
- Following the next phase of the 2023 NAMs Designathon for human systemic toxicity, the Staged Assessment TF is taking part in the EPAA Working Groups to address the main areas highlighted during the Designathon Workshop of March 2024. Want to find out more? Contact Sergio.
- We’ll soon be launching an ECETOC shadow group for the recently initiated Commission working group on environmental safety assessment (COM WG ESA). The Commission working group will provide input to the development of aspects of the Roadmap relating to phasing out animal testing for environmental hazard and risk assessments. ECETOC activities are open to experts from academia, regulatory bodies as well as industry scientists working for any ECETOC member company. If you're interested in joining any initiative, please contact us to check its status and discuss this further!
