Olivier de Matos succeeds Dr Alan Poole as Secretary General of ECETOC

Before being appointed Secretary General of ECETOC, Olivier de Matos was Managing Director at Burson-Marsteller in Brussels, Leader of the Environment and Energy Practice and member of the Brussels Leadership Team.

“I am very happy to have Olivier joining ECETOC. His expertise and experience will be vital for the continued leadership of ECETOC on independent scientific developments and to address future challenges” said Martin Kayser, President of the ECETOC Board. “I would also like to thank Alan Poole for his excellent work and commitment over the last 5 years” added Kayser. During his tenure, Dr Poole has streamlined and globalised ECETOC to bring best scientific practices to the industry and the global regulatory community in the area of chemical risk assessment.

“ECETOC will celebrate its 40th Anniversary next year. 40 years promoting quality and reliability of science-based chemical risk assessments” said de Matos. “It is a real privilege to have the opportunity to build upon this heritage. Our objective for the coming years is to further develop the visibility of ECETOC and our dialogue with stakeholders to amplify the voice of science and support future decision making”.
