An update from the Secretary General

Dear All,

Science thrives on collaboration, and ECETOC’s impact is a direct result of your dedication, expertise, and willingness to engage in shaping the future of chemical risk assessment. Whether through our task forces or workshops, your contributions ensure that our work remains at the forefront of scientific and regulatory discussions.

To paraphrase the song, here at ECETOC we accomplish everything with a little help from our friends. This year we continue facing new challenges and opportunities, and as always, ECETOC’s strength lies in its members and expert collaborators. The coming months will see continued efforts in areas such as advancing the TRA tool, refining risk assessment frameworks, and exploring innovative approaches to endocrine disruption, NAMs validation, and immunotoxicity. These projects rely on the collective knowledge and commitment of our community, and I encourage you to stay involved—whether by joining a new initiative, contributing to ongoing discussions, or participating in our upcoming workshops.

In addition to our scientific work, we are pleased to announce that ECETOC is launching the opportunity for non-industrial partners—both individuals and organisations—to join as Associate Members. This new membership category is designed to strengthen collaboration across sectors, welcoming experts from academia, regulatory bodies, and other research institutions to contribute to and benefit from ECETOC’s scientific initiatives. If you, your organisation or anyone you know are interested in joining, please get in touch with me.

Your engagement doesn’t just shape ECETOC’s outputs; it contributes to broader scientific and regulatory progress. If you’ve been considering getting more involved, now is the perfect time. Every discussion, every case study, and every contribution moves us forward.

Thank you for being an essential part of ECETOC’s work. I look forward to another year of collaboration, innovation, and impact.

Here’s to a very successful 2025,

Blanca

P.S. Feel free to inform your network about the ECETOC and encourage them to follow our work!
