Welcome to Talia Neal-Walthall

We are pleased to welcome Talia Neal-Walthall to ECETOC as a secondee. Talia joins us to work on topics related to exposure, an area central to much of our current scientific programme. She will be with us for two years, working two days a week remotely.

Talia is an exposure scientist with a background spanning environmental engineering, human health risk assessment, and regulatory science. She currently works at ExxonMobil, where she focuses on exposure modelling for complex chemistries. Her role sits at the intersection of research and practical decision making, translating technical evidence into approaches that can support regulatory engagement and real world implementation.

Before joining ExxonMobil, Talia worked in regulatory science, primarily with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. There she contributed to projects involving chemical exposure, air quality, and environmental risk assessment. She holds a Ph.D. from Duke University and brings experience in exposure and fate modelling, data analysis, and developing scientific approaches for problems where the available data are incomplete or evolving.

This mix of technical depth and regulatory insight is exactly what our exposure work benefits from, and we are glad to have her contributing to it.

Outside of work, Talia enjoys hiking and camping, painting, puzzles and escape rooms, and exploring art and architecture.
