ECETOC TRAv3: An In-depth Comparison of Publicly Available Measurement Data Sets With Modelled Estimates of Occupational Inhalation Exposure to Chemicals

In a nutshell

An ECETOC task force has carried out an in-depth comparison of modelled results from its Targeted Risk Assessment (TRA) tool with actual measurement data of inhalation and dermal exposure to chemicals in workplaces and found that it meets its design objective of being a robust and conservative screening level tool.

The tool is used by companies in Europe to model exposure assessments of chemical substances for REACH dossiers. The study showed that the TRAv3-tool overestimated the actual measured exposure, with its predictions erring on the side of caution.
