Use of “omics to elucidate mechanism of action and integration of “omics in a systems biology concept

Introduction

A small organising committee prepared a symposium on the use of “omics in systems biology which was held at the annual meeting of the European Environmental Mutagen Society (EEMS) in Oslo in September 2010. The aim, at the Cefic-LRI funded event, was to present some “omics case studies and learnings from the ECETOC Malaga II workshop (February 2010; see Workshop Report 19).

Terms of reference

  • Organise a Symposium on the "Use of “omics to elucidate mechanism of action and integration of “omics in a systems biology concept".
  • The event should preferably be held in plenary session on the first day of the annual meeting of EEMS in Oslo, Norway, September 2010.
  • Select and invite scientists to speak at the symposium, based on a recent ECETOC workshop on “omics case studies (Malaga, February 2010).Present a synopsis of the conclusions and recommendations to the LRI Strategy Implementation Group and ECETOC Scientific Committee, for further action as appropriate.
  • Serve as an editorial board and publish papers based on the proceedings in a suitable journal.
