Chronic fish case studies towards an IATA

Why?

Hazard and safety assessments for the pelagic compartment often rely on in vivo studies using a single fish species, raising ethical concerns and uncertainty in terms of extrapolation.
An Integrated Approach to Testing and Assessment (IATA) for chronic fish toxicity does not currently exist.

Objectives

ECETOC Advisory Panel to work in liaison with contracted consultant to develop case studies, leveraging NAMs, to help shape future chronic fish toxicity IATA.

Timeline and Deliverables

Timeline: end Q3 2025 - Q3 2027.
Deliverables: Peer-reviewed manuscript(s) on case study findings, including proposed actions towards IATA.
